Stleary July 10, 2008
The AAS library is being closed due to lack of use, and to no longer having an AAS librarian. The library consists of Astronomy and Sky and Telescope magazines.
An AAS member has offered $100 for the collection, or as much of it as he cares to take. If anyone else would like to make an offer, please let me know before July 17, and we will find some equitable way to divide it up.
The Astronomy magazines span 24 years, from 1978 - 2001, or about 288 issues. They have not been stored well and are in poor to good condition.
The Sky and Telescope magazines span 30 years, from 1960 - 1989, or about 360 issues. They have been 3-hole punched and are bound into large 3 ring binders. They are in fair to good condition.
The following S&T issues are missing
- Jan 72, Oct 81, Mar 88, Feb 89, Apr 89.
The following S&T additional issues are included:
- Jan 54, Apr 54, Jul 54, Mar 59
