Ealing hand paddle not working
From AAS Observatory Wiki
Status: Resolved
The Ealing hand paddle has been intermittent since at least Jan 2008, maybe earlier.
It was last checked by Darin, who determined that it would slew correctly in Fast
mode if the mode control was set to S (slow). Presumably it works in slow mode
when F is selected. Volunteer is needed to repair or replace the hand paddle.
No great hurry on breaking it further fixing it, since until the finderscope is replaced, it is very important to have a working hand paddle.
Update 7/28/2008
Tom Campbell offered to work on the hand paddle, pending discussion with Darrin. But Darrin was able to get the hand paddle working during the July 26, 2008 public star party. I will re-evaluate and see if it is still working. Hint: there might be an intermittent connection problem on one of the plug, so try re-inserting it several times if it does not work the first time.
Update 8/3/2008
Following Darrin's repair, the hand paddle is now working.
