LCRA policy for pesticides and herbicides at COE

From AAS Observatory Wiki

April 20, 2009
"The problem of applying herbicide lies solely in a regulation of who can legally do it. As a State Agency we adhere to The TDA guidelines of those who apply must be a licensed applicator or under the direct supervision of someone with a license."

AAS members should not apply any herbicides or pesticides (broadcast or bait) anywhere on the property, with the following exceptions:

  • Spot application to control the occasional wasp nest, spiders, etc.
  • One-time application of Over 'n Out fireant killer in the area of the observing tables. I will try to do that by this weekend, wind and weather permitting.

LCRA will take care of keeping the gravel path clear of weeds.
